I was first introduced to Jon’s sculpture on the campus of Case Western Reserve University as a first year law student back in 1984. His sculpture, Morning Star, installed in 1982, was located close to the law school. Appreciating the connection to Yellow Springs, I made a point to visit Jon’s Morning Star often during my three years in law school at CWRU. When I moved back to Yellow Springs in 2012, I got to know Jon and his wife Debbie Henderson and we became good friends. Being a huge fan of his work, I was delighted when I could purchase one of his pieces for my art collection, a candleholder made of granite, stainless steel and brass that he made in 2015. I call it the “JBH Candelabra”.

Jon Barlow Hudson creates sculpture in a wide variety of materials such as: granite, marble, stainless steel, bronze, wood, water, fiber optics, and various types of glass and natural elements. Types of sculptural installations, most of which are created site-specific, include: exterior and interior, suspension, wall-mounted, environmental, and sculptural fountains. Hudson is experienced in collaborating with other relevant professions in the sculpture construction process and values such opportunities. Jon creates public, private and corporate sculpture environments world-wide.
